Antinous is the most prominent of Penelope's many suitors, consuming Odysseus's household's wealth while pressuring her to remarry, and growing bolder and more dangerous as the years drag on without resolution. When Telemachus's search for his father becomes a threat to the suitors' plans, Antinous proposes an outright ambush to kill him.
