The Priest Who Warned Troy
Laocoön is a priest in Troy — of Apollo, in most tellings — one of the very few voices in the city who argues against bringing the Greeks' abandoned wooden horse inside the walls, warning that whatever the Greeks offer, it isn't a gift. He drives a spear into its flank to prove his suspicion, and the hollow sound it makes should have ended the argument on the spot.
