King of the Ethiopians
Memnon is the son of Eos and Tithonus, king of the Ethiopians, who arrives at Troy late in the war leading reinforcements for a city already running out of allies. He kills Antilochus, Nestor's son, in the fighting, and is killed in turn by Achilles in a duel both mothers — Eos and Thetis — beg Zeus to intervene in.
