King of the Golden Touch
Midas is a Phrygian king who finds Silenus, Dionysus's old companion, wandering drunk and lost in his gardens, and treats him with enough hospitality that Dionysus offers any reward Midas names. Midas asks for the golden touch, and gets it exactly as literally as the words suggest: in Ovid's telling, his food and his wine turn to metal the instant he touches them, and within a day he's begging to have the gift taken back.
