Bronze Sentinel of Crete
Talos's origin is itself disputed. One strand has Hephaestus make him and give him to Minos as a gift, a bronze sentinel set to patrol Crete's shores and hurl boulders at any ship that strays too close. A separate, older strand skips the forge entirely and counts him among the last survivors of the Bronze Race of men. A single vein of ichor runs through his body from neck to ankle, sealed shut by one bronze nail.
