The Blind Seer of Thebes
Tiresias is the great prophet of Thebes, blind in most traditions and unusually long-lived across several generations of the city's royal disasters. He warns Oedipus that the killer he seeks is himself and later tells Creon that refusing Polynices burial has offended the gods.
