Beloved of Aphrodite
Anchises is a mortal Trojan prince who becomes, briefly, Aphrodite's lover, after Zeus arranges for the goddess of desire to feel exactly the kind of overwhelming attraction she so often inflicts on others. She comes to him disguised, reveals her true identity only afterward, and warns him sternly never to reveal who fathered their child.
