The Incinerated
Semele is a mortal princess of Thebes, granddaughter of Harmonia, who becomes one of Zeus's lovers and is destroyed by the encounter almost as a direct consequence of Hera's jealousy. Disguised as a nurse, Hera convinces Semele to demand that Zeus reveal himself in his true divine form, bound by an oath he cannot break.
