Of Lerna
The Hydra is a serpent of the swamps near Lerna, daughter of Typhon and Echidna, raised deliberately by Hera specifically to torment Heracles. Its defining trait, that severed heads grow back doubled, turns a straightforward fight into a genuine puzzle.
