Serpent of the Apples
Ladon is the serpent set to guard the golden apples in the far west, the youngest child of Phorcys and Ceto. Unlike many of his monstrous relatives, his role is almost entirely defensive: he simply coils around the apples, sleepless, until someone strong enough comes to take them.
